Seismic site classification of Nakhon Nayok City, central Thailand, using the MASW technique

Shear-wave velocity (Vs) of soils in Nakhon Nayok City, Central Thailand were determined using the Multi-Channel Analysis Surface Wave technique. The Vs. 35 tested sites weighted average to 30 m depth based on National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP) criteria, which revealed NEHRP site classes C, D, and E within study area. Soil class C was found north city. Moreover, most residential area City is positioned soil D E. has an amplification value ranging from 1.4 3.9. central southwestern parts city, mainly consist soft sediments, have a higher than that northern part, consists coarse grain colluvial deposits. Based value, will experience some effect ground shaking nearby far away earthquake seismic sources.
